Antonina Shevchenko is Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani and Peruvian Muay Thai fighter as well as a mixed martial artist currently competing within the flyweight section within the UFC. She is the younger sister of another fellow UFC fighter and an earlier UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko's combat sport career began with her debut as an Muay Thai fighter. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title and later defeated Suzane Mller by unanimous vote. Antonina then followed up with won a silver medal in 2007, a bronze award in 2008 a gold medal in 2011 and the year-end 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thailand World Champion. Antonia's professional debut was in 2003. In 2012, she took home an event called the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship and in 2016 she took home the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016, she was the winner of the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina's last fight was against Isa Keskikangas of the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She won by a unanimous decision. Antonina Shevchenko set the professional MMA record in 2002 at the KFK Championship in Kyrgystan against Anara Bayanova. She won the second-round TKO fight as well as her two games at the WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. The result was a 3-0 record. Shevchenko was forced to take a break from MMA in order to focus on her boxing. Shevchenko made her comeback at the end of 2017 in a fight with Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko defeated Anissa via unanimous decision and later defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. She quit the promotion and began Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko was defeated by Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina used her superior fighting abilities for the fight to TKO Nievera in the clinch with knees and body. Antonina's UFC contract was renewed following this victory. Antonina Shevchenko made her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hitters' finale in which she was fought against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi via split decision fight. She won the initial fight by unanimous decision. Antonina recovered from her loss, and defeated Lucie Pudilova in the UFC on ESPN Covington vs. Lawler via second-round rear-naked choke. She was also awarded the fight of the evening bonus during the fight. Shevchenko was defeated by Katlyn Cookagian, and beat Ariane Lipski's three bouts.
