Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) more popularly known as her real moniker Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be affiliated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. In October 2016 Ari Lennox debuted her Pho EP. The EP was where she was recognized. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox has been uploading her music since 2012 with her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014, she dropped new music through the internet including Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes and in Sweat It Out on the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole had her send her songs to the Dreamville Team in the following year, as he wanted Rihanna to be able work together on a few references. The announcement of her decision to sign with Dreamville Records was made on the 8th day of December. Backseat, a track she sang together with Cozz on The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. On the 21st of October in 2016, the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was accompanied by EarthGang. In 2018, Ari Lennox appeared on two tracks featuring EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas, on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video for it came out on the 5th. Then, on the 9th November, she released another two singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). Then, on November 13 she dropped two more singles titled The No One as well as Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on the 26th of February, 2019, for the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared alongside Cole in the Creed II sound track on November 16. The 20th of February, 2019 a music video was released for the song. The track has received over 3 million views on YouTube in its debut week. In December 2018 she was an opening act for From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.
